Apply to Close Your Street
From Thursday 2nd June – Sunday 5th June anyone in the UK can hold a street party to celebrate the King’s Coronation. The government suggest planning at least 6 weeks in advance by simply filling out an application form on your local council website. You won’t need a risk assessment or license for alcohol consumption or playing music as these parties are classed as one off events.
Spreading the Word
Once your application has been approved, it’s time to spread the good news to everyone on your street. A great way to tell everyone about your event is to get children to create colourful, eye-catching advertising posters, invites and programmes for your King’s Coronation event, take a look at our our Coronation printable invites and posters here. You could even make it into a competition and offer a special prize for the most unique design.
