1. Cut three colours of card into two 10cm x 15cm rectangles and fold each in half. Use a compass to draw a 7cm diameter semi-circle in the middle of the fold on each piece and cut out. (pic a)
  2. Stack the folded rectangles up in a repeating colour order and then glue all of them together like a book. (pic b)
  3. Tape a length of gold cord to the middle of the front and back of the stack and cover the tape with a semi-circle of card in the same colour, left over from step one.
  4. Open out the stack to the first ‘page’ and choose some glitter stickers to fix to the wide areas of card either side of the circle. Add greetings with a fine gold pen and draw on stars to fill in any gaps. (pic c)
  5. Carry on decorating the pages with more stickers, lettering and patterns but leave the first and last pages blank as they will be tied together when the card is opened.
  6. Cut stars from two of the spare circles left over from step one. Glue them back to back with a piece of gold cord between them and decorate. Glue the other end of the card to the folds of the card so the star hangs in the centre of the cut out circle.
