1. Paint the underside of the puppet in yellow adding a dark pink border, and paint the other side completely dark pink. Paint the inside of the mouth light pink with a bronze border and leave to dry.
  2. Add a row of sharp teeth made from a strip of white self-adhesive felt cut in a zigzag pattern. Edge the inside of the mouth with a 1cm wide strip of orange self-adhesive felt cut with patterned scissors. (pic a)
  3. Cut flame shapes into a 6cm wide strip of red felt and fix this around the opening of the puppet with a 3cm wide strip of orange sticky felt cut with decorative edged scissors. (pic b)
  4. Fix two large wiggle-eyes to the top of the head and decorate with felt eyelashes. For the nostrils, cut two pieces of red felt – 4cm by 6cm – then fold in half and roll up like a swiss roll. Hold in place with double sided tape and stick to the face with a nose-shaped piece of self-adhesive felt. (pic c)
  5. Cut lots of really thin, tapered strips of red felt. Cut small circles of self-adhesive felt and fix three or four thin strips to the back. Stick these to the top and sides of the face to make long whiskers. (pic d)
  6. Glue bright pink or red sequins to the back of the dragon with PVA to form a scaly pattern. Add more decorative dots of felt to fill in any spaces.
