- Roll out some green and yellow Fimo into rectangles. Place one on top of the other and fold the sides in so they overlap and the rectangle is one third of its original size. Roll flat and fold in the sides again. (pic a)
- Keep doing this to make lots of thin layers of colour and then squeeze the folded Fimo into a block. Cut several slices down through the layers of colour and lay these flat on a baking tray, pushed up close to each other. (pic b)
- Use a rolling pin to flatten the slices and then cut the marbled slices into small squares and rectangles. (pic c)
- Make more mini tiles like this using a combination of other colours then bake the tiles for 20 minutes in the oven on a very low heat (see manufacturer’s instructions).
- While the squares are cooling, roll out a square of air hardening clay to coaster size onto a flat surface. Press the cooled tiles into the surface of the clay to make a square, symmetrical pattern. (pic d)
- Trim the excess air hardening clay from around the edge of the design. Leave the clay to dry completely then varnish for a perfect finish.
