- Paint the inside and outside of a wooden keepsake box with red wood stain and leave to dry. (pic a)
- Cut a long 1cm wide strip of red card and wrap this around the lid of the box, folding at the corners and trimming to size. (pic b)
- Lay the strip flat and spread a little PVA onto one section. Use a cocktail stick to pick up yellow seed beads and glue them in a straight line along the edge of the card.
- Add more rows of coloured beads and try alternating colours to create patterns. Work on a quarter section at a time and leave a little gap at the folds. (pic c)
- Cut a square of red card to fit the lid of the box and draw a circle in the centre with a compass. Apply PVA around the circle and stick blue seed beads onto this to make a border.
- Make a pattern in the centre of the circle with coloured beads and fill in the background with red seed beads to the edges of the card. Once dry, stick the card pieces to the box. (pic d)
