1. Twist three pairs of pipe cleaners together and make one pair into a loop. Use short twists of wire to fix the other two pairs onto this loop to make the legs and back.
  2. Bend two pipe cleaners in half and twist together. Form these into a nose and head shape and fix this to the body. (pic a)
  3. Stuff the loop of the body and the head with crumpled up kitchen roll to give some padding. Cut the Mod Roc into 3cm wide strips. Dip a strip into a shallow bowl of water and wrap around the frame.
  4. Carry on until the padding is secure. Wrap each leg with more kitchen roll and cover with wet Mod Roc. Cover twists of tissue with Mod Roc to make ears and a tail and fix to the body. (pic b)
  5. Once the body is completely covered with Mod Roc, mix up some casting powder with  water to make a thick consistency and smooth this over the figure with your fingers to fill in any gaps and cover any rough areas. (pic c)
  6. When dry, paint your animal in realistic colours, looking at photos to see what direction the fur might go in or how the colours change. Add facial features and coat with acrylic varnish to seal the finished model. (pic d)
