- Cut a piece of yellow card to A5 size and glue to the back of a cereal packet to strengthen it. Trim this to the size of the coloured card. Cut another piece of coloured card the same size for the roof.
- Cut some red card into four rectangles, each 15cm by 10.5cm. Roll each one around a pencil to make strong poles, 15cm long, and secure with double-sided tape.
- Cut eight rectangles of yellow card 3cm wide by 10.5cm and wrap them loosely around the poles. Remove, then secure each roll with double-sided tape. (pic a)
- Cut 1cm slits into one end of each roll of yellow card and fan out. Glue the rolls to each corner of the base and roof then cover with rings of sticky foam to strengthen. (pic b)
- Fit the poles into the rolls on the base and place the roof on top. Cut another piece of yellow card 21cm by 15cm and cut out windows and a door. Decorate with strips of paper and foam to look like a shop front and fix to the roof with a strip of paper so it hangs down.
- Make cones from semi-circles of card covered in paper. Decorate the floor of the garage with stripes in a chevron pattern (either paint, or cut out strips of paper). Make a petrol pump from squares and rolls of card, and paint some wooden cars with coloured acrylic to drive around your play-set. (pic c)
