1. Cut two 10cm squares of felt from different colours and cut each in half. Use a small running stitch to sew the pieces together alternately.
  2. Sew the fourth felt rectangle to the first one to form the pieces into a tube. (pic a)
  3. Decorate the tube with lots of different coloured self-adhesive felt shapes while the felt can be laid flat.
  4. Position the tube so that the rectangles of one colour line up and sew along the bottom with a small running stitch. (pic b)
  5. Fill the bag with plastic beads, dried rice or macaroni until it is about half full. (pic c)
  6. Position the bag so the rectangles of the other colour line up and stitch along the top of the bag. (pic d)
