1. Roll out some blue Fimo to a thickness of 2mm onto a flat surface. Press a star shaped template into the surface and remove. (pic a)
  2. Cut around the star shape using a small knife or cutting tool. Roll some yellow Fimo into a thin sausage and cut into equal sized slices.
  3. Roll each slice into a tiny ball and decorate the surface of the star with these. Carefully lift the star from the work surface and place on the side of a glass votive. (pic b)
  4. Use a cocktail stick to make indentations all around the edges and add more yellow dots to the glass between the points of the star. (pic c)
  5. Make a tree design in the same way from green Fimo, adding red baubles. Roll out a thin sausage of yellow clay and create a star from short pieces of this. (pic d)
  6. Place the nightlights in a cold oven and heat up to 110°C (check manufacturers’ instructions). Bake the pieces for 30 minutes and leave to cool in the oven. When cold, paint over the designs with satin varnish.
