- Cut out an 18cm diameter circle from some scrap card and draw a 7cm diameter circle in the middle.
- Divide the smaller circle into eight and draw lines out from these marks to make a Celtic cross shape.
- Cut out the card template and use to cut shapes from pink and lilac felt. Place the two shapes together and stitch around the edge of the smaller circle with embroidery thread to hold in place. (pics a & b)
- Pin the side pieces together and sew up each one with blanket stitch. Cut a 3cm wide strip of pink felt and sew to each side of the basket to make a handle. (pic c)
- Cut a 5cm diameter circle of yellow felt and snip all around the edge to make petals. Do the same with a smaller circle of orange felt and stitch the two together.
- Make a small disc of white felt for the centre of the flower and sew to the top before stitching the flower to the side of the basket. Make more flowers in different colours. (pic d)
