1. Roll some purple Fimo into a 5mm wide sausage. Cut off two pieces 2.5cm long and place in a ‘T’ shape. Bend the remaining piece into a horseshoe and fix to the top of the ‘T’ to make an ankh. (pic a)
  2. Roll out some green Fimo and cut a rectangle 6cm by 3.5cm. Gently press the ankh into the middle and use the knife to make decorative marks around the edge. Add a hole for hanging using a darning needle. (pic b)
  3. Roll out some blue Fimo and make a 6cm diameter circle. Roll out some red and orange clay and cut into lots of small squares. Use these mini tiles to decorate the edge of the blue circle. Roll out a thin sausage of yellow Fimo and ‘run’ along the edge of the mini tiles to create a decorative border. (pic c)
  4. Roll out some light blue clay and cut out a Horus eye shape with a sharp knife. Add the eye detail using black and white clay. (pic d)
  5. Place the shape onto a sheet of rolled out yellow clay and cut around the edges to make a border. Lay the eye in the centre of the decorated blue circle and pierce a hole for hanging using a darning needle.
  6. Bake the amulets in the oven for 30 minutes on a very low heat (see manufacturer’s instructions). When cool, paint with a coat of clear varnish and leave to dry.
