1. Draw an eagle shape (see template) onto brown foam and cut out using sharp scissors. (pic a)
  2. Cut out one large pair, and a smaller pair, of feathers from yellow self-adhesive foam that will fit into the wings of the eagle. Make sure that you flip your templates over so the shapes are mirrored.
  3. Place some newspaper on your work surface and spray the feather pieces with gold metallic paint. (pic b)
  4. When dry, fix the feathers to the eagle shape, making sure they are symmetrical. (pic c)
  5. Use a red metallic 3D paint pen to draw feathers on the body of the bird and add a beak and eye detail. (pic d)
  6. Use a gold glitter pen to add decoration to the rest of the standard.
