1. Cut an A4 piece of light green card in half to make a strip 10.5cm by 30cm. Measure down both long sides and mark at 1cm intervals. Use a ruler to join each corresponding mark and an ink-less ball point pen to score across the card to make a series of lines. (pic a)
  2. Fold along all the score lines in the same direction. Flip the card over and make a fold in the opposite direction between each scored line so the card is concertinaed. (pic b)
  3. Gather up the folds at one end of the fan and tightly wrap with a piece of tape. Fold a rectangle of red card at least 10cm long around the wrap and secure with double sided tape. Punch a hole in the base of the handle and tie ribbon through it. (pic c)
  4. Draw a dragon shape onto a piece of different coloured card (use our template) and cut out carefully. Glue the back of the dragon and press against the opened out fan. Allow the glue to dry and then add an eye and decorative dots using a gold glitter pen. (pic d)
