- Draw around a cardboard dragon mask onto black foam using a white pencil. Cut out the foam shape with scissors including the eyes and mouth. Alternatively paint the whole card mask with black paint and leave to dry (this may be simpler for very young children). (pic a)
- Use out templates (or make your own shapes from self-adhesive foam) to create the eyes, nose and whiskers of the dragon. Fix each piece into position on the mask so the face is symmetrical. Punch a hole on each side of the mask and at either side of the mouth. (pic b)
- Use lots of different colours of glitter to decorate the face. The more spots and lines of glitter the better, especially on the black background. (pic c)
- Make two long tassels by knotting a few lengths of coloured ribbon together. Tie the tassels through the holes by the mouth of the dragon then add the elastic to the holes at the side. (pic d)
