1. Mix up three different colours of acrylic paint with white paint to create pastel shades. Paint the front and back of each section of the frame using a different colour. Give each side two coats for an even finish. (pic a)
  2. When the paint is dry decorate the back of the frame with dots of silver glitter. Make a pretty glitter border of dots around each individual frame aperture. (pic b)
  3. Take a 20cm length of wide gauze ribbon in a pastel colour and fold it to make a rose. Stitch in place at the base of the flower as you go to stop it unravelling. Make several more roses using different colours of pretty ribbon. (pic c)
  4. Cut a heart shape of about 5cm wide from white card and colour it with aqua fibre pens or watered-down acrylic paint. When dry, write your greeting in the centre. Use strong glue to fix the heart and flowers around the frame, adding short pieces of satin ribbon to the roses. (pic d)
