- Cut two pieces of card 12cm by 21cm and glue together, one on top of the other. Roll into a tube and secure with double-sided tape.
- Cut a piece of self-adhesive felt long enough to wrap around the tube and stick in place, trimming the ends of the tube if necessary. (pic a)
- Draw around one end of the tube onto the backing of a piece of sticky red felt. Draw a bigger circle 2 cm around the outside of the first circle and cut out.
- Snip long triangles from the edge down to the first circle. Remove the backing and stick a card disc to the centre. Fix the star shape to the end of the tube and push up the triangles to stick to the tube. Decorate the top of the tube with a zigzag strip of felt and big circles down the front. (pic b)
- Cut out a pair of arm shape from card and stick a piece of felt on each end for the hands. Cover both sides of the arm with sticky felt, then stick to the back of the tube. Decorate the cuffs with zigzag strips of felt. (pic c)
- Make a pencil topper by sticking a felt face to a smaller tube of card. Add a hat and features and place on the end of a pencil. (pic d)
