Stick double-sided tape around the rim of the can and fold the foam over to cover any sharp edges. (pic a)

Wrap the can with several layers of torn kitchen roll, gluing down as you go. Cut the Mod Roc into 5cm wide pieces. Dip one into a shallow bowl of water and lay over the tissue, smoothing down with your fingers. (pic b)

Carry on adding more strips of Mod Roc to make a rounded body shape. Mould a strip of Mod Roc into a beak shape and secure to the top half of the can with more flat strips. Smooth all the edges and leave to dry.

Cut feet from orange foam and fix to the base of the tin with a circle of sticky foam. Cut wings and eye shapes from sticky foam, decorate with sequins and glitter glue and lay to one side to dry. (pic c)

Paint the body of the owl with blue paint and the beak area in orange. When dry, stick on the eyes and wings and add more sequins and glitter if necessary. (pic d)

Gather up two or three pieces of yellow tissue in the same way and stick to the orange piece to create a thick sheet that looks a bit like papyrus. Glue the last piece in place only at the centre of the sheet. (pic a)

Make paper string by folding a narrow rectangle of white tissue several times lengthwise and then twisting into a rope. Use this to gather the moist tissue paper in the centre and tie.

Screw up another piece of tissue into a ball and place under the knot. Spread the moist sheet out either side of the ball and tie underneath to make a head and neck. (pic b)

Plait together three long, folded pieces of yellow tissue and tie the ends with paper string. Place the arms under the neck and bind the body with more string before flaring the ends of the damp sheet into a skirt. (pic c)

Fold an orange sheet of tissue in half, concertina up and bind the middle with paper string. Fan the sides out to make wings and glue to the back of the corn angel. Leave to dry. (pic d)
