Cut a piece of orange card down the middle to make two long strips. Mark 8cm intervals  along one edge. On the other side measure 4cm from the edge before marking at 8cm intervals.

Join the marks with a pencil to make triangles and cut out to make the flags for your bunting. (pic a)

Stick each triangle onto black card and cut around the shape to make a 3mm border all round. (pic b)

Punch two holes in the top corners of each flag and decorate with a foam sticker on  each side.

Thread gold cord through the holes at the top of each flag to join together, tying the thread  in place at the ends. (pic c)

Make some dangly chains of metallic beads threaded onto stretchy cord to tie between  each flag for extra sparkle. (pic d)

Lightly pencil in the face of the witch onto the wooden spoon and colour with pale green acrylic paint. Highlight the features using dark green and red paint. (pic a)

Glue different length pieces of tinsel garland or shredded foil to the head to make hair, using shorter bits at the front for the fringe.

Concertina a sheet of black paper with 1cm folds. Carefully push a darning needle through all the layers at one end and thread gold cord through. Stick decorative sprinkles or stickers to the bottom of the paper, glue  the open sides together and tighten the thread around the spoon to make the dress. (pic b)

Cut an 8cm diameter circle of black paper and remove a small oval shape from the middle.  Make a cone from black paper, snip the base and glue to the brim of the hat. (pic c)

Cut two hands from green foam. Cut two sleeve shapes from paper and glue the hands to the cuffs before  folding in half and sticking to the back of the dress. (pic d)

Make a cloak from a sheet of black paper cut into a curve and decorate with rows of  Halloween sprinkles or stickers. Tie this in place around the witch’s neck. Add the hat to finish.

Cut four strips of green and yellow paper, 30cm by 2cm. Stick a green piece to the top of a yellow piece at 90 degrees to make an ‘L’ shape.

Fold one piece over the other in turn to make a concertina stack in alternating colours. Glue two other strips to the ends as you run out of paper making an extra long leg. Repeat to make a pair. (pic a)

Cut a body shape and two feet from green card. Place a wiggle-eye on one side of  the body and add dots of  yellow paint with a cotton bud. (pic b)

Use a blue metallic pen to fill in the spaces between the paint with lots of smaller dots on both the body and the feet.

Gently stretch out the legs and glue the feet into the pockets at the end of the concertina. (pic c)

Fix the legs to the back end of the body in the same way so the frog looks like it’s leaping away. (pic d)

Paint a polystyrene oval blank with two coats of black acrylic paint and leave to dry. (pic a)

Fold an A5 piece of black card in half and sketch out a curvy bat wing shape so the centre of  the wings fall on the fold.

Cut around the guidelines with scissors, unfold the wings and rub out any pencil lines. (pic b)

Use a fine gold pen to draw curved lines from each wing tip to the centre. Add a line of  dots around the edges and draw the same pattern on the other side of the card. (pic c)

Pierce two small holes either side of the fold and thread a 50cm length of gold cord through both, knotting at the ends to form a hanging loop.

Add wiggle-eyes, card ears and a mouth to the painted polystyrene blank. Place a piece of double-sided tape over the cord and fix the body onto the wings. (pic d)

Use a blunt table knife to score a piece of A4 black card 2.5cm in from each long edge and 13cm in from each short edge. Fold along each score line.

Cut into the two short lines on each side of the card so the sheet can be folded into a bag. (pic a)

Draw a cat shape onto spare card and cut out to make a stencil. Place the stencil onto one side of the flattened bag and sponge a little gold paint over the surface. (pic b)

Cut some long 1cm wide strips of orange card and fix them up the long sides and across the short edges of the sheet to make decorative borders. (pic c)

Take two more strips of orange card and fix to the short edges of the underside of the black card to make handles for the bag. (pic d)

Fold the bag up and stick the two sides together with more double sided tape using a ruler to push down on the adhesive from the inside if necessary.

Use a pencil to draw a series of circles onto a piece of card, each one about 2cm smaller in diameter than the last.

Join the circles to make a big spiral and draw a head at the end of this. Cut out with scissors to make one continuous piece. (pic a)

Make a hole in the centre of the spiral with a darning needle and knot a loop of gold cord into this. (pic b)

Stick alternating colours of sequins onto the spiral with PVA glue and leave to dry. (pic c)

Add dots of glitter glue in between the sequins and make two eyes on the head of the snake. (pic d)

Hang the snake up to let the glue dry and the weight of the glue will make the card spiral drop down.

Soften half a sheet of red and half a sheet of yellow wax for a few minutes by placing them on a plate near a warm radiator, or by squeezing them between your warm hands.

Mix the two colours by kneading them together until you get orange wax. Use half of this amount to make one pumpkin and roll into a ball between your hands.

Use a knitting needle to make a hole down the centre of the ball and thread a piece of wick into the hole. Use the side of the needle to make grooves down the sides of the ball. (pic a)

Soften some green wax sheet and roll into a small ball. Flatten this between your fingers and use the needle to make indentations all round to form leaves. (pic b)

Press a pair of leaves onto the top of the pumpkin so the wick stands out from between them. (pic c)

Take a green candle pen and carefully draw veins on the leaves and spirally tendrils coming down from the wick. (pic d)

Draw around a mask onto the back of a piece of brown self-adhesive foam. Mark out the eyes and draw around a penny in the same place to make two small eyes. Cut out and stick the foam to the mask. (pic a)

Cut a leaf shaped piece of orange sticky foam and fold in half before removing the top part of the backing and fixing above the nose area.

Cut some red and orange feathers in half. Place some double sided tape below the eyes and stick the feathers to this so they hang down from the mask. (pic b)

Add the other half of the feathers to the ear part of the mask. Cut some small feather shapes from brown and red self adhesive foam cut into each side to make the feathers. (pic c)

Remove a 1cm long piece of the backing paper and place the foam feathers over the ends of the real feathers to neaten the mask.

Cut a piece of black sticky foam 2cm wide by 20cm long, and cut a fringe into one side. Cut in half and use to edge the eye sockets of the mask. Add dots of gold glitter glue to finish. (pic d)

Roll out a piece of black Fimo to a thickness of 3mm and form into a double bat wing shape with your fingers. (pic a)

Lay the wings flat onto a baking surface and use a darning needle to make two holes at the top of the shape.

Roll a little bit of red Fimo on a flat surface to make a thin sausage. Use this to make the ribs of the wings and trim at the tips. (pic b)

Roll some white clay into a ball between your hands. Press a small orange disc onto the surface and use a tiny dot of black for the pupil. (pic c)

Make holes through the eyeball beads by slowly pushing a cocktail stick through the centre. (pic d)

Cook the clay for 30 minutes at 110^oC and let cool. Thread gold cord through the holes and knot to make necklaces and pendants.

Glue the card cone template onto black card and cut around it carefully, including the long slot. Use a silver metallic pen to decorate the black card with spirals and dots. Roll the card into a cone and fix the tab through the slot. Use tape to secure. (pic a)

Stick yellow felt onto the head part of the body template. Add some thin strips of green felt for hair, held on with a fringe cut from green sticky felt. (pic b)

Add wiggle-eyes and felt features. Cut a small circle of black felt with a slit across the middle and fit this over the head.

Cut two triangles of sticky black felt to make a pointed hat and fix to the head, holding the brim in place. Fold the shoulders of the body in around the plastic stick and tape in place. (pic c)

Cut a 15cm by 6cm rectangle of black felt and snip one edge into zigzags. Fix the other side onto a thinner strip of sticky felt, gathering it as you go to make a skirt. Wrap the skirt around the body using the sticky felt strip. (pic d)

Cut two arms from black felt and fix to the back of the body. Decorate the witch by gluing iridescent stars to her dress and hat. Feed the stick through the hole at the base of the cone to complete the puppet.
