Cut some yellow card to A5 size and fold in half to make a blank. Cut a piece of green card to look like blades of grass and glue this to the yellow card (use our template). (pic a)

Use a sharp pencil or hole punch to make two small holes at the top left of the card, on the grass. Cut around the grass shape, leaving a 3mm border of yellow card. (pic b)

Thread a piece of ribbon through the two small holes. Cut out some more smaller pieces of grass from card and fix to the bottom of the card with glue dots so they stand out from the background. Decorate with foam bug stickers. (pic c)

Cut a piece of coloured card the same size as the keyring insert. Cut a slightly smaller piece of different coloured card and glue to the centre. Add your message and some decoration with coloured pens and fit into the keyring. Tie the finished keyring to the card with the ribbon and add a cute bug sticker. (pic d)

Use a soft pencil to draw guidelines across the centre of a ceramic tile, and from corner to corner, to help you position your design symmetrically. Glue five stone tiles to the centre in a cross shape. Use enough PVA glue to hold the small tiles securely in place. (pic a)

Add a border of alternating coloured stone tiles around the edge of the coaster. Leave about 1mm gap between each tile so that you can rub grout into it later. If necessary place the stones equally around the coaster before gluing down. (pic b)

Fill in the rest of the design with whole tiles and half tiles. Use a pair of scissors to cut the tiles either diagonally to make triangles or straight across to make rectangles. When complete leave the glue to dry for about an hour. (pic c)

Mix up a little grout as directed. Use your fingertip to rub the grout into the gaps between the stones. When the whole coaster is grouted rub the surface with a damp cloth to remove the paste from the top of the tiles, then leave to dry overnight. (pic d)

Select several square sided wooden beads – you will need about 14 for a 20cm long caterpillar. Paint the beads in different colours but make sure that three beads are the same colour, as these will form the head. (pic a)

Cut out 4cm diameter circles from several different colours of felt. You will need about four circles of six different colours – 24 in total. (pic b)

Make the head of the caterpillar by tying two beads of the same colour together at the end of a long piece of thread so they sit side by side. Pass one end of thread back down through the first bead, through a third and back up the second bead before knotting again. (pic c)

Use the long thread attached to the head, and sew through alternating felt circles and beads. Carry on until you have used half the thread and then sew back up the length of the body before knotting near the head and adding wiggle eyes. (pic d)

Choose a creature mask shape and draw a symmetrical design in the centre of it, enclosing the eye holes. Use a fine paintbrush to carefully paint the shape in one colour and the background in a contrasting colour and leave to dry. (pic a)

If your mask has antennae, paint the stalks of these as well. When dry, fix some narrow strips of self-adhesive foam across them and trim to the same width. Cut out foam shapes to stick to the main part of the mask for extra detail. (pic b)

Use dots of extra strong glue to fix lines of sequins around the top of the mask, over the eye holes and in a pattern at the centre of the design. Leave the glue to dry before fixing the elastic band into the holes at the side of the mask. (pic c)

For the antennae, cut two circles of self-adhesive foam. Cut two different colours of thread into 2cm pieces. Fix these in clusters to each circle so the ends fan out. Place another self-adhesive foam disc on top to secure all the threads and glue to the tops of the antennae. Decorate with sequins. (pic d)

Use our template to draw a box diagram onto a piece of A4 card. Cut around the diagram, making sure that all the notches are cut away where the folds will be. (pic a)

Use a ruler and an old ball point pen to score lines down and across the card shape where the folds will be. Fold the card in on all the lines. (pic b)

Use double sided tape to fix the sides of the box to the front and back. Make sure you can tuck the roof tabs in. Cut a piece of card 10.5cm by 8.5cm and fold in half on the long side. Glue this to the roof section so there is an overhang on all sides. (pic c)

Decorate the main part of the box to resemble a birdhouse. Add a couple of circles in different colours and sizes for the entry hole, then use patterned scissors to cut strips of card to place around the base and add card stripes across the roof (double sided tape may be easier and less messy to use than PVA glue). (pic d)
