Stack the stars up so that the colours and points alternate and the smallest stars are at the top. (pic a)

Push a darning needle through the stack of stars. Remove this and carefully push a length of wick into the hole. Trim so that 1cm sticks out the top. (pic b)

To make the striped candles cut several colours of wax sheet into 4.5cm squares using a blunt knife. (pic c)

Carefully push the squares into the glass candle holder and press down around all the edges so there are no air bubbles.

Push a darning needle through the wax and insert a wick as before (see instruction 3). (pic d)

Keep wrapping more strips over the pipe-cleaner frame and smooth the fabric as you go along until the whole shape is covered. Leave to dry in a warm place. (pic b)

Paint purple swirls onto the body and the tops of the reindeer’s legs. Fill in the gaps between with spots of gold glitter glue and leave to dry before varnishing. (pic d)

Use a darning needle to make a small hole on either side of the reindeer’s head. Cut a gold tinsel pipecleaner in half and twist both pieces into antlers. Fix these into the holes with PVA glue.

Fix these over the arms of the figure using double-sided tape, cutting a slit in one sleeve to fit over the winder. (pic b)
