- Colour a wooden clip-on bookmark with woodstain, making sure you paint the front and back. Leave to dry and stick two big wiggle-eyes on the head.
- Cut out small oval shapes from two colours of self-adhesive foam and stick these alternately down half the length of the clip to make a body. (pic a)
- Cut two wide wing shapes from a foam sheet. Cut smaller leaf shapes from self-adhesive foam and fix these onto the wings as decoration. (pic b)
- Use a piece of double-sided tape to stick the wings to the back of your bug’s head. Make sure they are level and don’t overlap the clip. (pic c)
- Use PVA to glue large, different coloured sequins to the wings in a symmetrical pattern. (pic d)
- Add more sequins to the body and head and cut a small crescent shape of pink self-adhesive foam to make a smiley mouth.
